One of the things that makes sapphire worthwhile is on most airlines, sapphire does give you extra benefits that you'd "normally" only get with emerald. For example, I have QF Gold, and quite often, I would get fast track and extra baggage...
It's probably a good place to post the extra benefits you'd get - I'll compile a chart if there are too many
Could you post the benefit, the airline, the class and the airport and terminal you're flying from.
BA: LHR T5: Fast Track + Extra Baggage (2pcs/32kg) (in Y)
BA: HKG T1: Extra Baggage (2pcs/32kg) (in Y)
CX: LHR T3: Fast Track + Extra Baggage (Lenient c.5-10kg) (in Y)
CX: LHR T3: First Lounge, if empty (in J)
QR: LHR T4: Extra Baggage (Lenient c.10kg) (in Y)
QR: CDG T1: Fast Track (Courtesy of tboons)

Yeah, it really does depend on which airport you fly from. Even goes as far as which terminal...
It's one of those things that makes sapphire a pretty decent tier, but no one advertises it on their sites

A useful thread, but a couple of other comments.
Fast Track/Priority is only listed as a oneworld Emerald benefit, and then only at certain airports.
oneworld Emeralds also get 20kg extra per ticket.
As noted, none of these privileges generally apply to oneworld Sapphire, although there are clearly some examples where airlines or individuals are more generous.
but it is probably useful to try and distinguish between
- Airline policy for all oneworld elites
- Airport policy for oneworld elites
- Agent leniency, where YMMV
eg.
AA allows a free 1st and 2nd bag for oneworld Sapphire (for tickets after April 2014, before this was also Ruby)
oneworld Emerald gets three bags
