Lounge access based on tier while flight is on different loyalty program?
I can do the AA platinum challenge and should qualify if I enter it. One of the major reasons would be to get lounge access for 2014 through February 2015 by the sapphire tier.
The question is: let's say I fly on a one world airline such as LAN or Iberia. And I put my Iberia Plus number on the booking so that I will get points in my Iberia loyalty program from the flight. Can I then still get lounge access because I have the AAdvantage platinum (sapphire) card and I am flying with a oneworld partner?
Or to be more exact, do I need to have the AAdvantage number on the boarding pass or is it OK that there is another loyalty program on the boarding pass? As long as the flight is with a oneworld partner and I have sapphire status with any oneworld partner that is enough?

Agree no problem. The only instance I'm aware of that this doesn't work is EK & QF alliance (non-one world). EK lounges insist on entry based on class of travel or status on the FF program crediting miles to, no access based on higher status with the other airline.
