Just flown a couple of flights with UL. Quite a disaster airline.
It took them 30+ minutes to check me in due to poor understanding of how their own systems work. On board people move all around C cabin and change the seats even before doors are closed. Constant flow of pax from Y into C cabin to talk to their friends and use C lavs. I only wanted to sleep but no, has been waken up and asked if I wanted to eat :mad: A friend on another UL flight had very similar experience. So may be OK if you get it very cheap and keep your expectations very low. But don't expect proper C experience - you get what you paid for and even less. Regards, El Puerco Volante. |
That's not exactly a "disaster". Maybe you should temper your expectations a bit when flying on a south Asian airline.

last time I flew in south Asia the aircraft were cleaner just like the airports were, not to mention more efficient then any domestic flight in the United States no he should complain for the bad service |

UL are certainly "friendly" - but this is a friendliness that boarders on being unprofessional. While I may enjoy this type of "friendly" attitude in a rundown bar in CMB, on the aircraft I would prefer someone acting as a pro. The very least you can expect is that Y pax are not allowed into C. UL is so friendly that everyone is welcome to come, stay for a chat, use the laws - you get the picture. Same story at check-in - lots of smiles but takes 30+ minutes. I'd rather have 2 minutes time and no smiles, thank you. I realise that everybody's expectations are different and for some people some food and a smile equals to great experience. I personally prefer stay comfortable and to deal with professionals when travel - and UL is very far from providing any :) Regards, El Puerco Volante. |
The future game plan is simple: don't fly UL. I wonder what you would call a true disaster involving UL. You've already used up with hyperbole and exaggeration the most apt term.

Regards, El Puerco Volante. pax moving around the C cabin is normal for UL (as in plenty of changing seats amongst C pax, many of whom are actually UL security), but as a paying passenger you are usually offered to 'sit anywhere' or to move to a quieter part of the cabin. if Y class passengers are coming through the cabin you just need to have a word with the crew and they'll stop it. I know some people would argue that it is not the job of the passenger to to that, but hey, I've had it on other airlines like Lufthansa and qantas as well. it sometimes happens and if the crew are aware they'll be vigilant. on my last flight a C class pax was unwell and spending a lot of time (most of the flight) in the toilet... if any other biz class pax was waiting then a crew member would escort them to a Y lavatory, jump the queue, go in and tidy the toilet, and then let the C class pax in. that's what I call service! |
Anyone want to hazard a guess as to whether you'll be able to redeem Oneworld miles by Feb 1?
I'm guessing pretty slim, but since SQ just canceled there morning flight to Male, I"m scrambling to avoid losing a day on the island. |
