help with RTW and Circle Pacific

This is a request for ideas and advice in connection with RTW and Circle Pacific from FTers with better knowledge and experience than I have. I have a RTW from last year that ends in Amman in late May. After that I have to get to Rio de Janeiro in a week or two, but can stop along the way anywhere at all, preferably via New York. I would like to be in Sydney for New Years and Easter Island in February (for a friends birthday and the local carnival known as Tapati). The basic plan I am think of is getting another RTW in Amman and embedding a circle pacific in the middle of the RTW along these lines:

RTW part one: amm-dme-hkg

Circle pacific: hkg-jfk-gig-scl-syd-hkg

RTW part two: hkg-dps-hkg-kix-hkg-jfk-gig-scl-ipc-scl-gig-lhr-vie-amm

The only part thats really fixed is:
Late May 2012: Amman (end of RTW from last year)
Home to Rio
Late Dec 2012: Sydney
Home to Rio
Early Feb 2013: Easter Island
Home to Rio and onto Amman to complete RTW.
The rest can all be changed, especially for better mileage or sights. Theres only 15 segments in the RTW as it is and the CP could be stretched out too. Any ideas would be most welcome.

I don't have any suggestions or advice for you, sorry, but I have to say that I'm glad I read your message. Heretofore I have been familiar primarily with the Star Alliance version of the Circle Pacific fare, which allows only a very short list of cities on the west coast of North America (and nothing at all in S. Am.). The fact that OW doesn't have these limitations may well come in handy in my future plans!

cheers,

Henry

Just be aware Henry that the OW Circle Pacific does have some restrictions - such as no travel to the Caribbean or to countries in Asia to the west of Thailand. Also limited number of stopovers in each continent - see the full rules here
