I'm sure it will be announced the minute it is firmed up.
These things only seem to get announced a few months out and even then are not necessarily met (eg Kingfisher)

Qantas (who are MH's Oneworld sponsor) are looking to launch a SE Asian premium airline, so this might scare MH away as well.

Really hope they don't. OW n-e-e-d-s a quality airline like Malaysian, especially with Mexicana gone (?), Malev going (??) and Kingfisher maybe not coming (???)

There has also been mention of QF not setting up the new airline in favour of a more extensive partnership with MH.

well...I heard that Qantas will work with MH to start up new preium airlines and also Air Asia will become MH's low cost airlines. Like SQ has its own low cost airlines - Scoot.
