If you have a bit more money to spend, you can try the QF Qantas Club. The fees are exorbitant, especially now with the high Kangaroo dollar, but you will get access to QF (excellent), BA (good), AA (better than nothing) and QF-contracted lounges when flying on QF, BA, AA or JQ. You also get a few little perks flying QF.

Getting off topic - but reports from this site's official company representative, Red Roo indicate the issue is not 's. I am surmising then that paid membership access to BA lounges is the sticking point - the JSA dictates that T3 lounges must be available, but perhaps not T5.

At least one report on the BA forum is of a lounge dragon stating that QF does not wish to pay BA the level of access fee that BA wanted.
