Will EK Emirates ever join Oneworld?

I see EK Emirates left Star Alliance does this mean there is a chance EK will join Oneworld someday?, would love to fly their A380 F product someday.

I see their partners below are very interesting!

Japan Airlines
Jet Airways
Kingfisher Airlines
Korean Air
South African Airways

EK was never a *A member airline.
And I think they have little intention of joining any alliance.

EK supposedly did consider joining *A, but decided against it. I doubt that they will join an alliance; if they ever did, I doubt they would join *A.

Emirates management has stated publicly that they see alliances as anti-competitive and have no plans to join an alliance.

I had thought that the Virgin-branded airlines had a similar philosophy, but I would be mistaken:

EK will not be joining any alliances in the near to medium term future. They were never a *A member either.

One World with EK...........................

Would be great to have Emirates as part of One World esp as they fly from a number of regional airports in UK with good fares onwards to the Far East and Oz.
Superb product too............
Is this a dream?

EK like many other carriers codeshare with carriers..regardless if they are in an alliance or not.

I flew a few months ago and got UA miles. A number of years ago, when EK started JFK-DXB, I was able to get BA miles..

Of the "Big-3" (EY, QR and EK), I see QR joining an alliance.

I think OneWorld should get GF into the mix. It would help both GF and OneWorld.

Since this discussion/speculation is more about oneworld and not specific to AA, we'll shift this over to the oneworld forum for broader input and discussion. Thanks! . /JY1024, AA forum co-moderator

Individual airlines can always try to work out a deal with Emirates without them formally joining OW. AA has a relationship with AS which is not in OW, and you get elite miles from them.

I always thought that EK wasn't wanted in the big alliances due to their competition with the euro carriers.

It is not a dream if:
1) AA starts to extensive codeshare with EK
2) BA gives some Heathrow Slots to EK
3) QF surrender all the Kangaroo routes traffic to EK
4) the EK CEO made oneworld president
