One World for Canadian
Hi
Live in YYZ. I'm not a business traveller and I fly 2 or 3 times a year only - mostly to Europe or Asia. I normally fly on a Star Alliance. But there is a deal to fly to NRT on American for $834. I don't know much about One World. Which FF programme would be best for me? CX? BA? or AA?

You could make Gold (lowest elite/Ruby) on AA if you did a challenge on the YYZ-NRT flight alone, so that would be the best option for you unless you have further specific Oneworld travel planned. One more flight could easily get you Platinum status too. Unless you regularly fly to HKG/Asia or LHR, AA is probably the best Oneworld FFP for most Canadians. AA/CX both codeshare with WS so that might also be useful for your mileage collection in the future.

No need to do the challenge if OP only flies a couple times a year - status doesn't seem to be useful here. I'd say take a look at the different programs, see if there's any destination you want to work towards. For example, BA points are expensive to use for Europe, but cheaper for Asia from North America.
