Middle East Travel in J
So I am doing a split revenue and miles journey in J to Beirut this summer for a wedding. I'm a bit skittsh about spending too much time on the ground in BEY, given present uncertainties in the Middle East. So I'm spending a lot of time touring in Turkey and then parachuting in to BEY for a few days.
HEre's the question: I'm flying AA from the States to DEL on a revenue ticket then using miles on RJ to IST and on to BEY. Is RJ the best OW option for J? Any other OW carrier that I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!

You're not missing any other oneworld carrier, but you are missing a non-oneworld AA-partner carrier: Gulf Air, which flies DEL-BAH-IST.

Thanks for that. Looks like both involve a connection. Any sense of whether RJ or GA has a better business product? Everything I see online indicates that it's a wash, so I may just try connection times as a tie breaker.

Sorry, I have no personal experience with either carrier. I've read that RJ's lounge in AMM is supposed to be decent.

I travelled with RJ last month, LHR-AMM A330 and AMM-MAD A320(or 321). Was impresses by both service, cabin and cuisine.
Crown lounge in AMM is also very nice, good breakfast selection. You do have to pay if you want a shower. (yes ...????)

Thanks! That's an exceedingly helpful endorsement. I'm hopeful that the shorter haul flights are similarly appointed (I'm flying from DEL west on an Airbus 319, which might not be as updated as the LHR routes).
Coupled with the ongoing drama in the rest of the Middle East, I think I'm gonna stick with RJ and hope that Amman is as temperate and quiet as the last time I visited!

They are both OK but I personally prefer GF. If you can have one less connection that would make the choice for me. Too bad you cannot get MEA. They are better than either of the others. MEA have mileage sharing with AF/KL FlyingBlue.
