RTW with paper tix

I'm looking at a DONE4 starting in AMM. If I enter a test itinerary in the online booking tool, it processes through to AA for ticketing and the fare is quoted in USD (ex-Jordan price converted to $). But in reality I need to keep the last few flights 'open', as they are way beyond the 330-day limitation of the tool. So I need to get a paper ticket.

Will AA still be the issuer, or will it be RJ? If AA, could I pay and collect it at any ticket desk in America (or elsewhere in the world AA is present), or only in Jordan?

(I am aware I could do the whole process in Canada.)

Thanks in advance. I couldn't see anything about this in the Rules or the FAQs.

cheers,

Henry

I think AA tickets for RJ. Book "dummy dates"--you can change later, nocharge. If you don't and there's a change in service, you'll get hit with a change fee.

AA tickets for RJ for tickets issued under the online booking tool. If you want the ex-AMM price you could set the itinerary up with AA(contact the AA rtw desk in the US) but you will have to have the ticket issued in Jordan by a TA (I don't think AA has a GSA in Jordan anymore). RJ, of course, can also issue the ticket in Jordan. To me the easiest remedy would be to do as recommended by the previous poster, use the online tool to have AA issue the ticket with dummy dates or routing and then change it later.

As you already know, you can take advantage of the Canada exception. You can book with the AA RTW desk for initial flight ex-AMM. Then your ticket will be priced ex-Jordan. However, you can purchase it in Canada at the Jordan price. See Section 15 of the One World Explorer Rules.

No, I didn't overlook the Canada exception but since the OP stated he was already aware of the Canada exception it isn't relevant to the OP's question.

The OP wanted to know if he could pay and collect in the US (or elsewhere in the world AA is present). The answer to the OP's question (taking him at his world that he is aware of the Canada exception and wants to purchase elsewhere) is no, he must purchase it in Jordan, unless he uses the online booking tool.

Another recommendation: Just book some dummy dates for your last segments. Date changes are free, so it does not really matter if you leave it open and then add dates or if you change dates.
An electronic ticket is so much easier, no delivery issues. Also when you need to change the ticket (and use a good TA - which i always do, well worth the extra cost) an email to your TA is all you need (instead of going to the ticket office, hoping you find an agent who has seen an RTW before....).
I have a great TA in Germany, he can get RTWs from points like NRT, ICN etc.
