Anybody hear of a round the world sale any time in the near future? They had one this time last year and save me 600 pounds on a Lone4

If air traffic is on the increase over last year, why would they discount an already heavily discounted ticket?

Unlikely. But they may have some seasonal promotion to celebrate S7's joining date. Like a special price in Russia Pass, or XONEX itrinerary involve with Russia. Who knows? or maybe they decide to let it go quietly. The moral side of the story: Do not expect miracles or unexpected...well...sounds like wasteful words but just remember: if it meant to happen it will happen. If not just be thankful they did not rise the price further.

Well, if it's a buy in Russia promo, they still have to deal with the Canada exception.

I wouldn't call an DONE4 ex Australia heavily discounted anymore.

And what a sale it was!! I bought an AONE3 ex-ICN for a bit under USD$5,500. We won't see those price levels again anytime soon.

It's worth noting (?) that today's AA/BA/IB joint business plan details show AA charging BA fuel surcharges on redemption tickets acquired with AA miles. This is a major change, and I suspect that shortly the "exemption" for BA fuel fines obtained by buying RTW products through AA's RTW ops will be a thing of the past.

(There are many positive things for AA flyers in the new scheme - 100% earning on BA TATL regardless of economy fare bucket, reinstatement of Plat/EXP bonuses, etc., but the fuel surcharges and punitive mileage expense for cross-metal mileage upgrades - from full fare categories only - are some negatives.)

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...les-ba-ib.html for starters.

Compared to normal (return and oneway) fares it is still heavily discounted.

Now I am confused. For practically the same US$11200 a DONE4 is ex Australia I can fly SYD-LAX-MUC-CDG-FRA-BKK-SYD on normal tickets. Twice.

Yes, all 16 coupons used on expensive routes and a DONE4 ex Australia is good value. But for many people who just need to get to 3-4 places other tickets will almost certainly be cheaper.
