I am sketching out a RTW ticket covering several spots in Asia. I do not see any options to get to the Maldives with OneWorld with the exception of a flight from Gatwick to Male. Ideally, I would like to have routing to/from India. Any ideas?

Since for a longer trip you will run out of segments and stopovers i would just look at a seperate ticket from India or Sri Lanka or other places. Many options, not too expensive.

You can include LGW-MLE (or MLE-LGW) in a OW around the world in conjunction with a surface segment (purchase a separate ticket for this) to/from Colombo or India or Singapore.

Any other ideas? It seems very challenging to get to-from MLE to New Dehli without multiple stops that would bring ticket prices over $500. I really need to minimize cost while maximizing the RTW ticket. LGW is definitely an option, but then I can't get off the island on to the rest of my iten. We are looking to hit new Dehli, BKK, PEK, NRT, and HKG during this trip and I can't seem to fit MLE into this RTW ticket. Any other ideas?

If you go Star Alliance, you can fly SQ in and out of MLE and hit all of the other spots you want.

Your available options have been listed. Either *Alliance or buying a separate flight or roundtrip outside of the xonex. You'll have at least one connection heading out of MLE to DEL, BKK, NRT, or HKG. Most seem to have one way fares listed on EF for less than $500; the cheapest may require two.
