combine ff miles from different programs?
Is it somehow possible to combine FF miles from different programs for a One World award ticket? I have miles in AA and British Airways-BA only does roundtrip awards and I am short on BA miles. Short with AA as well.

you can not combine from separate programs. you can swap at points.com but most likely not worth the fees.

Actually BA does one-way awards both on its own metal and on its partner's metal. One-way awards cost only half the number of miles with BA so just book one-way with your BA miles and the other with AA ^

Is it true that airlines don't always honor miles that weren't earned by the respective flyer? For example, if I were to purchase 50,000 miles from someone, could they not honor them?

For example - QF's prgrams allows the purchase of award flights and transfer of points to family members only; while AA's program allows a member to purchase an award flight for anybody
So, if you have purchased miles in a program from a member of that program, then (in the cases of QF and AA at least) if the airline found out about this, it might well cancel those miles since the member breached the program rules by selling them.
