Interesting potential issue with booking ex-Khartoum. RJ is the only OW carrier operating into there and AA is the ticketing carrier for RJ, but Sudan is an embargoed country for U.S. companies and, I think, that would prevent AA from issuing a ticket ex-Sudan, mcuh like they cannot issue a ticket with Cuba in the intinerary. I tried a dummy booking ex-Khartoum and took it all the way to the CC page and it looked like it would go through, but I don't know if it actually would have.

I'm sure OFAC will be on the case momentarily.

A quick note to say I'm having the same exact problem as the OP - a valid itinerary (DONE3 in this case) starting in AMM that I always get an error message on when trying to finalize the ticketing process. I called the AA RTW desk and didn't get much help... so I stripped out many of the extra (but valid) flights, kept it simple, and then simplified even further (only 7 segments at the moment). Nevertheless, I still can't ticket it online.

Any ideas?

Would also be keen to know where to go for OW ticket problems in AMM as I will be there shortly, also using a OW ticket product.

Same thing just happened to me. The planning tool was completely satisfied with my DONE4 ex-AMM and took me through all the steps of the booking process: names, credit card details, etc. Then, at the last step, I got the following error message: 'The fare for the flights you have selected is no longer available'.

???

What kind of fly-by-night operation is this?

cheers,

Henry

Long story short, I never got the booking tool to work with an x-AMM ticket. I'm glad other people have been able to, but I wasn't.

AA confirmed that it was a valid itinerary. I ended up doing it all with them again over the phone, then pricing it in Canadian dollars to ensure it wasn't priced at the higher x-US rate, then spending another couple of hours figuring out how to get it issued.

But it worked in the end, so that's what matters.

Well DONE (pun intended) CargoHoldFlyer!

Agree, DONE out of Jordan is great value at the moment, especially for us Aussies , Cairo is also not bad. Good thinking about the basic online booking then change via AA RTW.

I've just finished a DONE5 myself, originating out of Warsaw, and AMM was one of my last stopovers. Was very tempted to buy another DONE from AMM, but alas my bank balance cannot take another $7K+ hit at the moment lol.

BTW - I found RJ very good, enjoy your trip

I tried googling aa.com for embargoed countries and could only find Cuba.

ex-AMM price

Has anyone recently been able to get a ticket ex-AMM issued at the Amman price rather than the US price, using the online tool?

I booked a DONE4 online ex-AMM for $7,203.00 + $610.38 taxes using the oneworld online tool last month.

Granted, I had a lot of trouble with finding an itinerary it was happy with (15012 error on many, many attempts), but managed to get it through. I ended up having to drop some flights towards the end of the itinerary, and will end up just paying the re-ticketing fee to re-do it later, but that's no big deal. Certainly better than paying the far higher fare that doing it over the phone would've required.

Just a few data points for anyone getting the 15012 errors from the online tool. I had a 100% valid-by-the-rules itinerary, but had to play around with simplifying to make it accept it:

- It hated any BA/AA codeshare; I had to finish the itinerary with DFW-CDG-AMM and cut out the BA flight within Europe I had initially
- I had to change DFW-SYD to the AA codeshare from the QF flight
- I had to remove "extraneous" North America flights (I had a DFW-LGA-DFW in between SYD-DFW and DFW-CDG)

I don't honestly know which of those actually was they key, having tried so many permutations. It was frustrating having to click through so many pages and re-enter the CC info every time, but persistence paid off eventually.

Cool, thanks! I'm glad to know it'll work somehow. I'll probably just try to make it as basic as possible with the correct number of continents, and like you, pay the change fee afterwards.

I also might try ex-BUD since currency fluctuations make it seem a pretty good deal too.
