Yet another xONEx rules question
I want to purchase an AONE3 for travel in the fall, but just found out I need to be in SFO on Thursday of this week. Can I purchase my xONEx on Tuesday, have my initial flight be JFK-SFO on Thur, fly SFO-ORD/DFW-BOS on Fri (or, if need be, purchase a separate ticket to get home from SFO), and then sit on the xONEx until I'm ready to travel again in the fall?

As an alternative to beginning at JFK, I was thinking of beginning in BOS so I could transit JFK more than once. If I flew BOS-JFK-SFO on Thursday and SFO-MIA-JFK on Friday (with less than a 24-hour stop in SFO), could I then sit on the ticket until the Fall, at which point I'd fly JFK-LHR-PRG (followed by other stuff I haven't figured out yet!).

Shoot. I knew the first int'l flight had to be booked 7 days in advance. I didn't recall that the rule applied to all preceding flights, too. Thanks!

You could call the rtw desk and see if they still care but that was always one of the big differences between NA and the rest of the world(well, that and price). And they used to care although I can't really remember it being discussed much recently.

Oh yes I'd quite forgotten about the 7 day ticketing time limit bit for NA!
I was caught out by the 7 day TTL whilst trying to ticket a Circle Pacific fare, not realising that in the case of the DCIRxx the 7 day TTL applies to all ticketing locations rather than simply NA. Our corporate TA asked QF for a waiver. After escalating through a few levels of bureaucracy, the waiver request was denied because apparently all the oneworld airlines had signed a legal agreement, which expressly forbids making exceptions for any oneworld fare rule.
