Specific "which programme" question
Hi,
I usually fly AC and other *A carriers, but got the best deal for YYZ-HKG-SIN return with CX. I want to get the best value for my 18800 miles + Biz class premium. I'm not planning on doing much other OW travel but would like to be able to get a trip out of these miles. I've done some research and it looks like AAdvantage gives me 1.5x premium (for I class in CX) and will give me the most flexibility for using the points.
Is this correct? Does anyone have another suggestion of another OW programme I should join instead?
Because I'm travelling in Biz, I will already have the privileges that I'm interested in (priority check-in/boarding and lounge access) so getting to OW Ruby or Sapphire are not very important to me. However, will the mileage + premium get me to AA Gold?
Thanks for your help.

YYZ-HKG-SIN comes in at approximately 9398 miles , so round trip will be 18,796 miles.
Spending miles earned will be 18,796 plus 25% business class bonus giving approximately 23,495 miles
For status earning , you earn 1.5 qualifying points per mile flown in business class , so 18,796 plus 50% gives approximately 28,194 points. 25,000 qpoints is needed to attain AA Gold status ( which also gives OW Ruby status) so this trip will get the status
For points use, I would suggest that AA is probably the best option, so crediting there seems a good choice
