2 transcons on OWE with QF!!
Thought this was interesting.. Bought a AONE4 beginning in ICN. I went to SYD.. then I went to LAX from SYD.. got on QF107 from LAX to JFK... the very next flight was suppose to be lga-dfw-lax but I asked to leave from JFK and was put on QF 108.. all in first class... quite an experience.. I have taken a lot of of RTW and this was a pleasant experience.. trust me, I expected not to board the JFK-LAX flight on QF 108.!!!......

Did They Re-ticket?
That is interesting. Surely they must have had to reticket to accomplish this, right?
I flew QF 107 JFK-(LAX)-SYD twice this year, is nice for transcontinental portion. And flew CX YVR-JFK which was nice, too.

Good luck to you RTW4 and well done. For amusement:
1) Wouldn't JFK-LGA count as an open jaw segment? If they reticketed and allowed you to depart from JFK I assume you now have another segment available? BTW, were there any extenuating circumstances for the rerouting?
2) Despite QF bending OWE rules for single transcon, are they also flexing on US Cabotage regs for your onward flight from LAX? Where are you off to from LAX?

Its perfectly within the rules to fly 2 Qantas transcons if ticketed SYD-JFK-LAX.
The OP hasn't said that he was ticketed SYD-LAX-JFK or SYD-JFK. I would expect the latter as the former would be a waste of a segment.

Really!?? Which rule allows two transcon on QF? I've never seen this before.
QF107 SYD-JFK obviously stop in LAX, but I assume that its simply because there's a single flight number originating outside the US that this is allowed?
Not so valuable now anyway without F cabin LAX-JFK

So assuming QF is allowing
SYD-JFK-LAX under cabotage (as direct connection)
but not
SYD-JFK-DFW-JFK-LAX (as they struggle to ensure you have flown QF internationally)
