Best OW Lounge in BKK

I looked over the threads and could not find anything recent.

Anyone have any suggestions for the best OW lounge in BKK? Any photos or trip reports I should look for?

I am OW Emerald ( AA EXP ) traveling inbound on CX J and out on RJ J. I am in BKK for about three hours so will probably have time to tour all of the lounges.

QF F lounge is nice but very crowded around the times when BA & QF flights depart.

Does anyone know which lounge RJ uses in BKK. A friend who used them last year was given access to the Thai lounge. I called the sales office here in HKG and they don't seem to know.

Per oneworld's website it does seem that RJ uses the TG lounge in BKK, which should be excellent (although I've never been to).

The CX F/J lounges In Concourse G & D are pretty basic. They are only about 100 yards apart and essentially the same. Also, don't know when you are going through, but do note the times for the various lounges.

Looks like I will have time to check out the JL, BA/QF and TG lounge. CX will be closed.

I am EXP/Emerald. So I can use ANY OW lounge in BKK when I depart 3/4/10 at 23:00? Great.

Just and update.

To those of you who recommended the QF/BA First lounge you were spot on! Simple, elegant and comfortable.

It was the best. The JAL lounge made me feel like I was in one of the Japanese hotels near NRT airport....dump......

The Thai lounge was awful and was standing room only. Maybe it's nice when no one is in their but if you cant sit down in my opinion it is terrible.

Thanks for the update! Can I ask what time you were in there? I am transiting BKK on RJ to HKG in J, so will need BKK lounge access on a Saturday early afternoon.

My travel companion is OW Sapphire, so I presume we would also try out the other J lounges there if the TG lounge is too crowded.

I don't believe CX have separate F and J lounges in BKK. I flew out of BKK on CX in F, and had to use the J lounge (this was in January 2010).

The CX lounge I used in BKK was indeed basic, eg. it had no toilet facilities. However the sitting area was pleasant enough.

Interestingly, according to the CX website, the BKK lounge is open to MPC Gold and Silver members even when not flying CX or oneworld. Anyone tried that?

Sorry for the late response. Was on RJ in both directions to AMM and HKG. So was in teh lounge at about 11pm for the flight to AMM and TG lounge was packed while QF/BA F lounge was very quite maybe 10 people max. On the return we flew back to BKK to HKG and were allowed off and were the only ones in the QF/BA F lounge.

My GF is AA Plat and I am AA EXP so we stuck with just the F lounge in BKK. No problems with guest entry.

Showers also have basic amenities; toothbrush, comb, so was nice as I left my carry-on onboard during the transit back to HKG from AMM.

The Chinese versions (both traditional and simplified) shows what it is supposed to be. I suppose that it's an error?
P. S.: There are so many errors and bugs on CX website and I have emailed them multiple times, but they rarely care about my comments.
