Question about DONE3 ticket rules.

I am purchasing a DONE3 ticket. I will have AA issue an eticket. I need to give dates for all flights before my ticket is issued. I have the following flights on the ticket at present with same day connections:- MIA - BGI - LGW - TUN. I can't stop in LGW but I can stop in BGI. I would like the flexibility to stop in BGI if my schedule allows me to (I won't know until late summer and I need to issue the rtw ticket now). How should I set this up so I do not need to pay penalities to stop in BGI later?

Thanks.

Checking on itasoftware, looks like you'll be up for about BBD65 in govt charges - whether you transit or stopover (BBD1.00 = USD0.50). So no issue there.

So my suggestion is book it as a stopover now
Then should you need later to change it into a transit, there should be no problems - no charge for date/time changes
(it seems from what others have said on this forum that changing a transit into a stopover can cause some issues, but not v.v. after all you are just changing your stopover into a very short stopover!)

You should maybe keep an eye on 'D' availability on the BGI-LGW leg. I have no idea what it is like for your late summer timeframe. A strategy might be to book the BGI-xLGW-TUN segments for the dates you expect to fly them, book the MIA-BGI flight for a few days earlier - availability on that segment might be better than on the BGI-LGW segment. Am I making sense?

Thanks for the suggestion Panda Perth. I have changed the connecting city to BGI, I now fly SJU to BGI to LGW to TUN. I have changed my ticket to route through SJU (not MIA), since I have found a cruise itinerary I like from San Juan. I am hoping that I can accomodate the cruise (timewise). I will book the SJU - BGI flight a day or two earlier than the BGI - LGW - TUN flights. I do appreciate your help.
