I am in a dilemma as to where I should credit my LONE4 itinerary: all into LANPASS or divide some into LANPASS and AA.
I am Comodoro with LA (Emerald) and have re-qualified for the next year so my status is valid until 2011 March 31st. I will be guaranteed to get Premier Silver, which is Sapphire with OW for soft-landing for the year of 2011 until March of 2012.
My LONE4 is starting in ICN and it includes N.America, S.America, Europe, and Asia and my routing is as following (starting Jan of 2010):
ICN-NRT-DFW-YUL-DFW-ANC-DFW-EZE-LIM-SCL-IPC-SCL-FRA-SIN-CMB-HKG-ICN, which comes out to be around 49K miles.
I booked with carriers such as JL (only on ICN-NRT), AA (NRT-DFW-YUL-DFW-ANC-DFW-EZE) and LA (EZE-LIM-SCL-IPC-SCL-FRA), QF (FRA-SIN), and CX (SIN-CMB-HKG-ICN).
I am thinking about AA program since mileage redemption is a bit better than LA, per se and most likely it will be the carrier I will use more frequently than LA (I went for LA for status match).
My AA + QF segment miles are around 27K miles. LA + CX (since CX earns zero with AA but 100% with LA) combo earns me around 21K miles (around 37K miles with status bonus on LA).
My question is whether or not I should do a status challenge with AA to achieve Platinum status for 2010 where I'd still be about 23K miles short of re-qualifying for 2011. Given that I will have additional travel arrangements for 2010 (possibly netting me a total of 30-40K miles in addition to LONE4, but not possibly all on AA or OW), should I credit mileage into separate programs for LONE4 where I'd put AA + QF segments into AA program and LA + CX segments into LA program? Or credit all into LANPASS program (since AA, CX, QF, and LA all earn 100% with LANPASS program)?

You need to look at L class earning. The following post is over two years old (and doesn't have references for JAL) but may provide a guide:
Quote:
