D Global~~ Need some help! =)

Hi all!

I've been mainly roaming around the forums reading things but have finally got enough time to get to doing a round the world trip! After searching, I don't think it's possible to have PPT (Tahiti) on a xONEx itinerary so I put up a DGLOB together.

The places we would like to visit are:

BKK - Bangkok
NAS - Nassau, Bahamas
SXM - Saint Maarten
PPT - Papeete, Tahiti
AKL - Auckland

We live in Perth, but my partner is from JPN, so it's great that we can start and end in Japan, and quite useful!

So what I have is:

FUK-HKG-BKK-LHR surface LGW-ANU-SJU-SXM-MIA-LAX-PPT-AKL-MEL-PER-ADL-PER-NRT
33965 miles

Just short of 34000~!

Included:
First trip to all our destinations starting from FUK (Fukuoka Japan)
Second side trip from Perth to Adelaide
Third half trip from Perth back to Japan

I couldn't fit NAS into the itinerary but it seems like it's a cheap flight from Miami on AA so that's okay! (just 183 miles)

Points for you experts!

1. This violates many rules on the xONEx such as more than 4 SWP segments, backtracking from PER to SYD/MEL/BNE, but as far as I have read, there are no rules in the xGLOBx so this itinerary would be valid?

2. Would now love to fit NAS somewhere in there...dont know how though!

3. There are only 14 segments there~ If it is possible throw another 2 segments in or to maximise it to 34000, ideas would be awesome! We love
travelling around Asia and especially Japan.

Thanks a lot guys!!!!! There will definitely be a trip and airline report~ =)

Preface: I am not a Global Explorer Expert.

The fares on the website already include the 10% discount so you won't get it twice.

I think the only airline flying FUK-BKK is TG which isn't allowed on the ticket.

Alternatively, have you thought about a DONE5? Yes, PPT doesn't work but you can fly to IPC and buy a separate ticket which isn't that expensive. And this fly can easily be upgraded into business.

NRT-PER-MEL-AKL-SCL-IPC-SCL-JFK-SXM-JFK-DFW-NAS-LHR-ZRH-LHR-BKK-NRT

This gets you to everywhere but PPT and comes out Y25k more expensive. Of course you could contemplate to use some segments for longer flights like MCT instead of ZRH.

And yes, AA will ticket an itinerary as long as there are some AA flights in there.

Thanks DownUnderFlyer!

From that I assume it would be a good idea to purchase the tickets now! I've read that the first segment can be within 12months and then the rest 12 months from that, so that would be fine~

I've adjusted it a bit more again. Adelaide to Melbourne is accessible by train and Miami to Nassau is only 200 miles or so!

Thanks for the FUK-BKK tip -> I've changed it to FUK-HKG-BKK which are the same miles ^^

As for the DONE5 suggestion, I looked at fares from IPC to PPT and they are quite expensive! I also looked at AKL to PPT and they were 2000AU business return too. I guess DONE5 gives more miles though and more SC's

Thanks !!

The 10% discount does not apply on xGLOBxx fares.

My mistake. I thought they would consider a xGLOBx to be a oneworld product but I guess it is not.

IPC-PPT and back can be A$1000+ return in Economy. And it is very easy to upgrade this flight to Business Class using the LA program. Or get them as an award flight to start with.
Note, the flight is often not available as an award through QF but only through LA.

Since a xGLOBnn allows codeshares on non oneworld metal I guess such a discount might not have possible.

Not just codeshares but also many non OW coded and non OW metal flights.
