A couple of months ago I had a 012 ticket and was returning from ATL to MSP. Had a hard time checking in online so I checked in at the ATL airport (only DL operations now). They had to reissue my ticket due to a schedule change (nothing seemed to have changed to me). So the 012 ticket became a 006 ticket and it was done with relative ease - under 5 minutes.
