With FlyNow, EUA Not Possible?

Hi All,

In the past, when I've done FlyNow, I've not been placed on the UG list nor have I been EUA'ed.

I am curious as to whether I may still expect that to happen. I have a flight later today (I have R on the first leg so 3 free checked bags) but also have a FlyNow possibility for tomorrow morning. Assuming I change to tomorrow morning, the EUA is important to me because it will guarantee me 3 free checked bags. Is there any shot of receiving the EUA, assuming of course that there is R availability on IND-MEM (NW 3553) and then MEM-JFK (NW 1846)?

Thanks for reading,
Yarhead

Update

If I may begin to answer my own question, I did the change and was quickly upgraded on the first leg. Hope this is helpful to some of you considering the FlyNow option.

There was (is?) a bug that somtimes does not put you on the upgrade list when you use Fly Now. I discovered this on a trip one time when I was not upgraded even though the plane pulled back with half of first empty. I checked on arrival at MSP with a CSR and found that I had not been placed on the upgrade list, even though I was eligible, of course. And I had been placed on the list for the second leg. The first leg did not "take."

lately, I have had no issues, so it might be fixed. I would check to make sure you were not left off the second leg.

I have a flight tomorrow from FNT - DTW - LAX. The FNT flight leaves @ 8:30am and the DTW flights leaves @ 12:15pm. The DTW-LAX flight has already cleared into first. If I do flynow for a later flight out of FNT (10am) but keep the same DTW-LAX 12:15 flight, will I loose my upgrade/seat assignment on the DTW-LAX flight and have to hope to re-eua?

Sorry, hadn't seen this post. Did you do the FlyNow option? My understanding with FlyNow is that whenever you choose it, you do lose your old seats, so in your case I would have recommended to keep your original unless there was still a bunch of availability in F. How did it work out?

Didn't bother trying it as I did not want to lose the dtw-lax upgrade and get stuck in a middle seat @ the A$$ end of a 757.
