caution - DL and NW voucher policies not aligned
I have a DL ticket I was unable to use and called NW to make a change. They were able to do that, but clearly stated that the new voucher would be good 'for only 1 ticket.' This is NW's longstanding policy on residual value, but is very different from DL's policy which is to allow the residual to be spent down on an infinte number of tickets. My residual was going to be > $1500 so I canceled the transaction, called DL, and they were able to process this for me. I was then able to use the residual for 2 more tickets with some left over.
I'm sure there are other areas where policies have not been aligned yet, but this seems an important area to be cautious - especially because NW was perfectly willing to issue me the above voucher.
