A330 Seating Strategy. Help?

I'm flying to AMS from BOS on an A330 next week and need a seating strategy.

Here's the deal...I used miles to "purchase" my companions ticket and $$ to purchase mine. I'm elite so I chose an exit row seat but because we're on separate reservations, I couldn't place her in the seat next to me.

Will I be able to place her in the seat next to mine at check-in (if it's not already taken)?

It almost certainly won't be available at check in. Call NW and ask them to give her the seat next to you. They have done that for me for non-elite companions on different reservations.

Not sure what status you have, but if a phantom upgrade is possible for you, and you want her to take the upgrade, book HER into the seat you would prefer to sit in so that if/when you get upgraded, her seat is more acceptable to you.

Thanks fti. I had called NWA before the official merger and they told me (in no uncertain terms) that it couldnt be done. But this time they were able to accomodate me this time as "we're the same company now" and the policy had changed.

All good now!

I've never had problems getting a non-elite seated next to me based on my NW elite status on AM, CO, DL and NW. So just call the elite line and do as suggested above....

Same here. I've done this probably half a dozen times. The GE line was great! ^
