Another SWU Question

I will be on a long Asia tour in January and need to stop for 2 days at NRT on the way out. So my itin will look like this:

Outbound: BOS-MSP-LAX-NRT Stop for 2 days in Tokyo -HKG

2 weeks in HKG with a non ST flight down to MEL in between

Return: HKG-NRT-LAX-MSP-BOS

Can I use the SWU for the outbound even with a 2 day stop at NRT?? I would hate to use it and fly in the back NRT-HKG on the outbound flight. The return is pretty straight forward so no issues there.

Anyone do this yet?

While I could not find anything specific in the T&Cs, it is for a "one-way" upgrade. I think that for most cases, if there is a 24 hr layover, that ends the one-way leg. So I would think that if you would apply it to the outbound leg, it would only apply up to NRT and you would be left in Y for NRT-HKG.

But of course the best way would be to call the elite line and ask them to see if they can get it to cover both legs of the outbound trip. Let us know what you find out.

Yes I am going to call today and will post an update. I think you are right unfourtunatley...the second day will constitute the end of the One way.

I tried once for a three day layover in AMS, with no success.
