Agreed -- or even to delay your flight for a day so you could get your passport....

actually.... it all depends if this was one ticket or nested...

thezipper made a BIG boo-boo like this a few years back, was doing a DCA-DTW-CDG-DTW-DCA run and I forgot my passport at home... yup I was at DTW kicking myself soooo hard that night! But I went out to the counter and used a "trip in vain" excuse and they put me on the last flight back to DCA that night. Not sure if this will work for you, but give it a try.

Still don't understand why the OP doesn't have it. Did you just forget?

Possible brain fart... it happened to me, I did OLCI and entered my passport number at home, but just forgot to take it with me the next day...

This may explain it.

For example, I just checked in for a ORD-MSP-LAX-MSP-DTW-BUF journey, and since the LAX-MSP flight is a red-eye on the next day, so far the system has only checked me in through LAX. I'm guessing I can check in for the rest once I'm in LA.

Last minute OW ticket LAX-MSP costs under $200 due to competition.

I guess that's one thing I've never forgotten (yet), but all the other things I've accidentally left on the airplane make up for it.
