DL award code for business class

I am doing an award which the last leg is PRG-ORG. I'm going though AMS now but want the stamp from PRG.

I set up alerts on EF for DL (class Z) and OK (class Z). These were chosen from EF. Today the DL came through and I was notified. I called the PE desk and was told the class is actually "O".

According to EF "O" if Business class and "Z" is PMU points or upgrade.

Does anybody know the actual class code?

THanks, has anybody ever set an alert for class "O" on EF, and received a notification? They do not show it as a valid class in their flight availability.

Here are the relevant codes:

International Business Mileage Award: O
Int'l Mileage/PMU Upgrade: Z (but first must buy a fare in Y, B or M)
Domestic Mileage/PMU Upgrade: G (buy a fare in K or above)
Comp Medallion Upgrade: X (flight sold as business), V (flight sold as first)

I've never found "O" inventory on DL using ExpertFlyer - I think the website isn't configured to look for it. (I have found "O" on AF... go figure)

And while I'm on the subject, a note about those comp. upgrades. Delta has started selling a lot of domestic flights (with domestically-equipped aircraft) as "Business Class." (Not BizElite, mind you, but using J instead of F fare buckets.) This is a cause of frequent confusion on the DL board.

The reason is that frequently these are multi-segment flight numbers that originate or conclude overseas, and they need the fare buckets to remain constant for through passengers. Also, for a while passengers were ticketing their international trips in J, C, D, I or even O, but because most reservations systems recognize "F" as being superior, these passengers were being unwittingly downgraded for their domestic connections. (Imagine paying for Business Elite for a 9 hour flight from Italy to JFK, and then being forced into coach for your domestic connection.) Hence the reason many domestic feeder flights are now marketed with "Business." So when you guys get that reciprocal comp. upgrade ability on DL, bear in mind why it might be either "V" or "X" depending on the flight.

DIsturbing to me

Back to trying and find a way to determine if my return flight on DL is available. I go to Delta.Com and plug in the return as the start and a bogus return date.

Of course, the date I want has only the double miles available. What I could not believe the taxes/fees were almost $400. Currently I am in business class all the way (ORD-FCO-IST.. ATH-PRG... ATH-AMS-MEM-ORD) and my taxes for this entire trip was around $120.

I know I've been reading about the rip-off that Delta is but $400 for an award when last year we could buy tickets for $400 (OK Sometimes).

I did originate the itinerary in Europe, if that matters.

NOT AS BAD AS I THOUGHT.

I changed the routing to go US first and Europe home. It did go down to around $150.
