I know OP asked for a free tool, but even if you use it a few times, Expert Flyer ("E/F") really is a must have, IMHO, if you wish to play the game with NW. Its ability to read "R" buckets has helped me make flight choices more than once and the e-mail notification for awards of any variety just cannot be emphasized enough. At a smidgen below $100 for a full year's use, it really is a fantastic buy. Having said that as mentioned in the thread earlier, seatcounter works alright as well, but it honestly it is no E/F. Safe travels!

I disagree but maybe I just have had bad luck with it.

It was down earlier (when I replied), but it's working for me now.

It's always a good idea to have a couple different ones bookmarked in case your usual source is down.

Agree and done - all three now! There was a weird page linked to the one I asked about, but it does indeed now work.

At the risk of "thread drift" I have always been tempted as a 100K + flyer obsessed with getting upgrade whether the KVS tool would be worth paying for. Two differing opinions so far. Others?

The biggest advantage to both KVS and ExpertFlyer seems to be more in awards availability, including mileage UGs on international flights, from what I've read on FT over the past several years.
