New to Flyertalk

I just found your forum and see that there is lots of good info here. I have been a Worldperks member for 20 years and usually get Silver Elite but this year I have reached Gold Elite already. I expect that with my next trans-pacific flight next week to reach Platinum.

as a member of both Delta and NW programs I am eagerly watching the news of the merger to see how they mesh the two programs. I have about 600,000 combined miles banked and have decided to start using them on upgrades.

Welcome to Flyertalk and to the NW forum Minotbob! ^

There are many lengthy discussions about the merger, both in this forum and the DL forum. If you start reading them now, it will keep you occupied until the end of the summer

I think the decision to start burning the miles is a wise one. With DL's reputation for fees, it's probably better to burn now and ask questions later.

Welcome aboard! You can get a lot out of FT. Beware of its addictive powers.

Bob, welcome to FlyerTalk! There is a wealth of information here, I'd suggest trying out the "Search" feature thats located in the upper right hand side, you'll find many many answers there!

Hey all,

Figured I would tag-team the introduction thing. I've been browsing the forum recently and have to say that I'm amazed by the knowledge contained.

I'm new to the world of frequent travel (just joined the consulting world) but should hopefully pick it up soon. I should have NW PE and Marriot PE by the end of the year.

As a once-a-newbie, beware of the FT at work, FT when you travel, and FT late at night. You will do well to notice those that are warning you have lots and lots of posts.

Welcome to FT and the Northwest forum. We look forward to your contributions, which should be good based upon the amount of flying you seem to do.^

Or, waking up at 3 AM and logging on because you can't sleep!

From blowing off studying you will one day graduate to checking out FT at work when you should be doing what they pay you to do.
