MCO Security

Can anyone tell me if MCO has dedicated First Class line for TSA screening? Did search in Airport forum but came up empty.

There is no elite/FC security line at MCO.

I was on a circle trip last week as follows

1) CMH/MEM/MCO
2) MCO/IAH/SAN
3) SAN/DTW/CMH

When I checked in at the e-ticket macjine in MCO my boarding pass was flagged "SSSS" (Selectee!) because I was on a Continental leg between MCO/SAN on a Northwest ticket.

At the checkpoint I was placed in a "SSSS search line" and it took 1 hour 15 minutes to clear the checkpoint. I almost missed my flight.

Be sure and arrive very early to MCO.

It is possible (although uncommon) that a cruise ship or large tour group may have gotten into line minutes before you arrive at the checkpoint.

Good Luck!

RC, thanks for the info. I will plan on an early arrival to the airport.

So, if I was a bad guy (terrorist), what would I do if I got the SSSS flag. Maybe not board? duh?

How stupid is this? It has got to be the dumbest thing in the world. Giving the "bad guy" notice that he is about to be inspected. And giving him the OPTION to skip it and do something else.

MCO does not have a dedicated FC or elite security line. (At least not through Terminal B security.) But if you say to one of the ID checkers "it's just me" or indicate that you're traveling sans baby stroller they can sometimes put you in a "singles" line.

Be wary though, MCO's metal detectors are super-sensitive. Once I alarmed at MCO because of surgical metal in my arm-- had to show them the scar. That's never happened anywhere else. Annoying and comforting at the same time.

Yesterday (Monday) a colleague missed her flight due to a 1hr wait at security. She mentioned something how much quicker it would be to put kids through the x-ray machine...

The trouble with MCO is that you just don't know in advance if it will be a 2 minute wait or 1-1/2 hour wait.

My last trip through TSA security at MCO was a nightmare.
