New batch of AS upgrade certs?
Any gold/platinum elites get or know when they'll be able to order their 8 AS upgrade certs on-line? I'm a new platinum, not sure how it works, tried the website recommended on another thread and it says for "2003" elites it's closed. Will this possibly be after 2/04 when they sort out who's eligible?

Typically it comes on-line after the new "year" starts (Mar 1) If you are desperately in need of some, pvt e-mail me and I'll send you a couple

I used my (8) AS Certificates and went on the FT Coupon Connection and had (11) certs in the mail within 24 hours.
If you need a lot of them, the coupon connection worked for me.
Good luck!

Due to an unusual routing, I have an AS flight on 3/6 and also wondered about '04 upgrade certs. The current batch expires with the current elite cycle on 2/28.

Last year after applying online they took a couple of weeks to arrive.

I would call the Worldperks Service Center and rquest the certs IN ADVANCE, and give them your flight/record locator to back up your request.
They should be able to get them out to you.
These certs get printed months in advance.
Good luck!

Lets all hope that NW extends this great elite benefit for '04. I can't imagine they wouldn't... but ya never know.

Thanks for the tips. I have gotten a few from Coupon Connection lately that expire 2/29 and noticed they say they are valid on "Y or YAS" fares for confirmed space upgrade, and at airport on day of flight on other fares.
1. What is a YAS fare? (Y fares are pretty pricey -- e.g., RT discount SJC-SEA I can got for about $170, RT Y is $560)
2. When they say "at airport" is it first come first serve for NW platinum elites on AS, or are you ahead of non-elites with coupons in priority to get the upgrade?

Just tried to request these upgrade certs for March and beyond in advance by talking to the service center, where they checked with a couple supervisors. So far they have no information about advance availability, but anticipate they may become available in the near future, most likely, to print out on-line again to save cost, as supposedly about 70% of NW elites do not use them if they just mail them.
