EQM Question
On a recent flight of MSY-MSP-MKE in V class I received 770 silver elite bonus miles (50%) for the 1540 miles flown. Do the 770 silver elite bonus miles count as Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) or does only the 1540 miles qualify as EQM?

Only the 1540 miles count as EQM.

If you look carefully at your online WP statement, you can track what has posted as EQM and what has posted as plain old bonus miles. But if you fly Y or F class, you should still get 50% extra EQM on top of actual miles flown, in addition to the bonus miles.

So, if I wanted to do a MR from MSP-SIN to pick up some EQM, I can expect to only earn the base miles as EQM in trying to move towards Gold or Platinum? That is, unless, I am willing to purchase the ticket in F or Y? I had been thinking of doing a MR, but if I would not get the extra bonus miles as EQM, I am not sure it would be worth the run.
