Need help understanding this for EQM

I'm totally confused on all these darn changes. I'm looking at a flight on CO in 2004 and it's a Q fare. Booking it on CO.com What the heck am I'm going to earn on my NWA FF account for EQM 100% or 50%???

I saw this tonight on CO.com

Offer Extended through 2004:
Earn full Elite miles at continental.com

(Updated November 7, 2003)
You can continue to earn 100% Elite mileage and full segments/points for Q, I, S, W, T, X and L Economy Class fares (or equivalent fare classes) for travel on Continental Airlines, Continental Express and Continental Connection flights by booking your tickets at continental.com for flights between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004. Plus, when you book at continental.com and fly, you'll also earn 1,000 bonus miles.

Then I saw this on NWA.com

Continental Airlines
On flights operated by Continental Airlines, the following paid fare classes will receive 50% Elite Qualifying Miles effective January 1, 2004:

Continental Q, I, S, W, T, X or L fares on flights operated by Continental

It looks like CO just recently updated their statement on 11/07/03, is NWA going to make a change?

Thanks,
-travelnick

My understanding of the new rules is that if you are seeking CO One Pass Miles, you will earn 100% EQM in any fare class IF booked through CO.com. Booking the cheap seats through any other source gets you 50% one pass EQMs.

If it is NWA World Perk miles you seek, effective 1/1/04, you will earn 50% EQMs in CO's cheap seats no matter how you book it.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Unfortunately, I believe that is exactly how it works.

You got it exactly correct. When you are doing things with codeshare partners the rules apply for the program you are earning them in, not the one you are flying on.

So if you book on CO.com and then earn the miles in WP you will get 50% for the low costs codes and 100% for the higher codes.

This applies to any CO OPERATED flight, even if you book it on NWA.com or directly from CO or NW. Any CO metal you fly in will only earn 50% in WP unless it is the high cost ticket.

NW makes the rules for WP and they are posted on NWA.com, CO makes the rules for OP and they are posted on CO.com. Often they are similar, but the one providing the miles always has the say.
