Same menu in differnet flights

Just curious to see if any FT flyers had the same exp:

I was on 3 different flights (MSP/BUF, DTW/BOS, MSP/LAX)within the same week and the menu was identical. I don't kown if I was lucky or not.....

It happens, I'm curious what meal you had.

What would you rate it?

Would you ask for this meal again?

I was under the impression that *all* meals on NW domestic are the same. Over time they seem to like to change whatever it is they "encrust" the chicken with, but it's still pretty much encrusted chicken, some kinda fish, or pasta, right?

It's more cost effective to make a lot of meals for one day instead of 8 meals for one plane/route, 12 for another. Plus these meals have to appeal to everyone.

Be thankful you're not flying KLM, where it's sometimes difficult to tell exactly what it is that's on the plate.

The choice was roast beef roll or oriental chicken pasta salad.

I had both, they were not that bad, but I thought they might have some more to rotate in week, assuming the menus got changed every week.

I flet MSP --> IAD and back 3 times round-trip (6 legs) at the end of September. Every time, we had a different meal, though I think the pasta option was the same once or twice, but I never tried it. We actually had a decent steak option on one of the legs. I've had plenty of beef entrees, but never a steak on NW domestic.

You mean NW has something other than "beef or chicken"? That seems to be the standard fare on the flights I've been on (with few exceptions).

Edited to note: domestic F only.

It's not the main course that always seems to repeat...it's the dessert. Cheesecake, choclate cake, carrot cake. Cheesecake, choclate cake, carrot cake. Ice cream can't cost that much more! I had one day with two meals...a departure from MEM and TPA. No matter where you depart from on a given day, I believe the dessert stays the same.

I agree on the desert. Do they ever do the Hagen-Daz trolley anymore? Those sundaes were darn good!

I too liked Ice Cream...but then again, I like practically any FC food Northwest serves. I just like the food. Dessert? If I was given a choice between cake and ice cream, I'd choose Ice Cream in a heartbeat.

Same food? It hasn't happened to me too often. Maybe once or twice.

And the food I disliked....I had this Turkey Pasta one time..... I think that was the only disgusting meal I've ever had on Northwest. Generally, FC food rocks!

NWA didn't get rid of the the F.C. ice cream service because it costs more than cake (although I suppose packing ice cream in dry ice may help to boost the cost a little).

The reason it was gotten rid of was that serving ice cream sundaes is a labor intensive task, and the bosses would rather have flight attendants give f.c. pax one tray (which has dessert already on it) and then that flight attendant is supposed to scamper to the back and assist with throwing peanuts and drinks at the cattle class passengers.
