Those boots would really be a pain to take off for TSA security check points. :D

Any chance those burgundy uniforms of the late '80s/early '90s will come back?

Do you feel that way if the FA wearing it in 2007 is the same one who was wearing it in the late '60s?
my girl Carol managed to keep it going from 1966 till 2006. Though, my guess is that she was a bit happier than most NW FA's who have been around that long. Maybe it's the occasional black chip tip --- or the memories of working directly with Rosenthal et al. |

NWA's new uniforms will be designed by Twin Hill, a subsidiary of Men's Warehouse.

DanTravels ... Do you REALLY want to see the "mature" ladies that are such a staple on long-haul flights (like DTW-NRT which I fly ALL THE TIME) in 70's hot pants uniforms?

Further on DL F not being all that...

Competing with Delta requires improvement? Okay, I've only flown DL domestic F once, so someone who flies them a lot (MikeMpls, you there?) is going to have to compare and contrast for me.
My one DL F flight was pitched to me as "business class," and based on the flight number, I anticipated that it was an international-config 767 arriving TATL and continuing ATL-LAX. It turned out to be a domestic-config 767 with what we call "domestic F." Okay, whatever. The flight was okay enough. Nothing at all special, though, comparing it to NW. I don't remember there being a particularly impressive assortment of soft drinks. I do remember dinner (I had the beef option, if I recall) being overcooked and tough. So... what kind of great service did I miss out on that everyone else gets in F on Delta?

Personally I think NW's F is much much better than DL's (yes I've recently flown DL F-snacks are a joke), the current uniform standards are very old - I'm sure the employees will appreciate it and it'll give the public a better image of the company (it's a touch point)
The good news: free food even in Y (where I, of course, was.) The bad news: You can have anything you want, as long as it's sausage and eggs. Even in F. I was shocked to hear this, since NW will give breakfast options in F on flights half that length. |
