Changes in MEM
Looks like the rumors of big changes in MEM are true for the fall... Now it's all sort of making sense. Mesaba is recalling all the remaining furloughed pilots (due to the fall changes and lack of proper planning by crew planning) and may have to start hiring. Note - the hiring is not GROWTH, it is just to recoup from the losses we've endured from people jumping ship to better places.
Here is what I could find in the latest downloadable schedule... version C.
This is for the period 2 Sept - 25 Oct:
MEM-PHL 841am, 1240p, 935pm
PHL-MEM 1010am, 245pm, 645pm
MEM-EWR 1240pm, 521pm, 935pm
EWR-MEM 600am, 945am, 640pm
MEM-ORF 115pm ORF-MEM 540pm
MSP-MCI - 115pm, MCI-MSP - 1055am-1218pm
The MCI stuff looks like a bridge city with MEM.
The above flights are obviously on the avro. NW is finally realizing that the avro is better suited for these longer flights than the MEM-HSV and such. Looks like these return to mainline when the late fall season starts in time for holiday loads. IN the last version of the sked prior to the C version XJ was going to take over 1 IAH flight, but that is no longer in the system. So, I would anticipate several changes prior to the start of the next big sked change on 1 Sept. It will be nice flying into real cities! But the potential of getting a flea bag hotel in PHL and EWR rather frightens me.
2 Sept will also see the start of new EAS service from MSP to Devils Lake and Jamestown. There are 2 flights each to each city. All flights are operated with the mighty saab 340.
MSP - Devils lake - 1 stops in GFK the other in Jamestown
Devils Lake - MSP - 1 nonstop, 1 stop in GFK
MSP-Jamestown - 1 nonstop, 1 stop in Aberdeen
Jamestown-MSP - 1 stop Devils Lake and the other in Aberdeen.
Anyone find anything else?
