Is there such a tool that lets you see where an airplane is over the USA? Like shows you a map and puts the plane say over Neveda.

There used to be a 'Flight Tracker' in the Travelocity website. I no longer see this feature anywhere in the website. Could someone confirm / clarify this?

Flight Tracker at www.trip.com is now merged with www.cheaptickets.com
http://www.cheaptickets.com/trs/chea...acker_home.xsl
This is really nice. Use the graphical version - type in the flight # and airline and you are all set.

Travelocity still has a flight tracker. It is really small on the right hand screen of the homepage. Look right underneath the travel alerts.

Thanks & I do notice that. Does it track the flights garphically? Plus it appears that it is not working for me currently, gives the same status for all the flights.

The tracking info from Trip/Cheaptickets.com is dynamic. Meaning it shows a map with the flight plan and shows how much of the plan is complete. It also shows a larger map that covers 1-3 states with the airplanes present position...and if your Java is setup right, the plane moves. So, you will eventually see the flight guages (air speed, altimeter etc) change as the real plane descends for landing. Kinda spiffy if you want to watch your computer for the duration of the flight

You guys gota try this
You will never use flight aware again. You just launch Google earth and then go to this link and scroll down to "track a flight" then enter a flight # and click the "google earth" button to the right. Then, when the google earth comes up, put your cursor on the globe and you will see a control panel come up in the upper right corner. Play around with it! I had to uninstall and re-install Google earth (10% of instals need to be updated to the latest version) but it worked great after that. http://www.fboweb.com/antest/ge/intro.aspx?old=1

FlightAware.com is a favorite among pilots. Give it a look!

FlightAware is at least updated in real-time, shows SIGWX/RADAR, shows altitude and the flight path. The Google Earth plug-in is cool, but FlightAware is better, especially if you have to meet the flight, say to pick someone up. FlightAware also has very good historical data.

This doesn't appear to be updated in real-time.

Flightaware can be blocked by the aircraft owner. This way you cannot see where the plane is headed! Ours is for this exact reason.
