AMR side affects?
If they file for chp 11, what will NW most likely do in response? Buy used planes at dirt cheap prices? Add routes? Cut routes? Just wondering.
btw, my 300th post.

If and when AA does file, NW's response will probably be nothing, at least for a long while.
AA will continue operating as before (at least as far as NW is concerned) and its assets would not become available until well into the proceedings, if ever.
As far as adding routes, I don't think that this would be advisable for anyone under the current circumstances.

Either UA or AA will survive (not sure about both) and with a lower cost structure, Northwest will be forced to take an ax to their employee compensation levels.

No, that epidemic already belongs to UA's partner up north, Air Canada!

AMR goin to BK court ain't so much good for NWA. First- AA no longer has to pay its bills in a timely fashion and still competes, leaving NWA at a distinct disadvantage.
Secondly- w/ NWA's hub in NRT- they would be looked upon very unfavorably by most Japanese nationals if they were to follow UAL and AA into BK court- killing their beloved "Golden Goose."
It's not a good time for NWA- it's gonna get brighter, soon, though. I'm confident of it.
