Award Availability Changes?

Today I am finding standard award availability on nwa.com on US domestic routes that both WPAA lister and Galileo show NO availability.

Anyone else seeing this?

Tried the same routes today from my wife's account. No standard coach fare availability.

Log back into mine. Standard coach fares are available.

I have plat status she has none.

Looks to me like NW has granted plats additional award space.

Good for Plats. Bad for the rest of us if that means we lose space because of it. It's already too difficult to find standard award seats.

I think those seats for Plats, Golds, Silvers and the rest of travelers come from different buckets.

Can someone elaborate?

Interesting, and certainly not good news for those of us with no status. I'm curious as to people's experiences booking awards on NW. What % of time would you say you are NOT able to book the award you want? 10%? 25%? 60%?

100% so far since 2002. And I have a lot of flexibility. Granted, most of my itineraries involve KLM, so that complicates thing further. Sometimes I find seats as far as AMS, then nothing for the European leg. I know seats will eventually become available, but by then the transatlantic leg will be gone. I may never get a European award again, at this rate.
