I wonder if/when NWA will offer reciprocal lounge access with Midwest. The MKE WC is not particularly nice, despite some of the best staff in the system, and the YX Club is beautiful.

I would think that if you are flying YX metal (like from MKE to LAX) on a NWA ticket with a NWA ticket number (ie a codeshare) you can get WorldPerks miles AND EQMs. They key is it has to be a NWA ticket not a YX ticket.

Yeah, I would like to see that as well, but I don't think it is by any means a guarrantee. For instance, if you fly on a NW-coded CO-operated flight with a NW ticket one only gets 50% EQM.

I think I'd be happy with an arrangement similar to that which NWA shares with AS. Full EQM's and limited lounge access...

$213M cash...I thought NW was broke.

Anyway, seems like a good strategic move for NW. I enjoy flying YX occasionally so I'm glad to see NW make this move.

Lounge access would give YX flyers a lounge at DCA. YX and NW are both in terminal A.

Yup, you are right - certainly no guarantee. I'm hoping (expect?) that they'll handle it the way the handle American Eagle flights in and out of LA. You get full EQMs on those flights - if you have a NW ticket number.

Very funny... but you are probably right. I wouldn't want bankruptcy because of free Brandy Old Fashions!

If you can't beat them, join them!

Plus keeps out Air Tran and protects the NW Midwest fortress.

Good for NW, bad for ticket prices!
