NWA.COM Question

I’m making my first reservation on NWA.COM and I keep getting an error “Please note: all fields marked with an asterisk(*) are required.” I have all the required fields filled in. Am I doing something wrong? Also, for a Gold member do I get an upgrade on any fare? I checked the website and it looks like I do but I remember reading here that not all fares were entitled to upgrades. Thanks.

Yes, any elite member can upgrade on any fare.

The website is currently down.

I was successful with my first reservation. Do I have the same 24-hour hold period, like AA, to pick up the reservation? One other thing, I did not get an E-mail confirmation, should I? Thanks

If your itin. allows, NW won't issue the ticket for for at least 24 hours, which means you can call and cancel. It sounds like you made your reservation online, so you should get a confirmation email and an itinerary...maybe there was a glitch. You can check you itin. at https://www.nwa.com/travel/itinerary/

If you make a reservation on NWA.COM, then Northwest has its "Customer First" policy, which essentially gives you until midnight the next day to change your mind and get a full refund. I've used this a couple of times. Once when the rate dropped on a non-refundable less than six hours after I made a reservation (got my money refunded rather than an MCO) and another time when I got brain lock and reserved the wrong day. Realized my problem within an hour and called and changed. One other time I wanted to switch to a different flight so I called. They could have cancelled my reservation but I would then have been inside 14 days and the ensuing ticket I bought would have been more expensive so I stuck with what I had. The ticket will be issued automatically unless you call NW.
