I am the first one that likes rules - but let's be consistent. Rules are for all to follow, not just the majority!

As to the remark what does NW owe me – nothing!

You talk about business, what kind of business am I in?

Apparently you do not have very good business sense. Businesses all over the world have specials and give a ways – right?

Now why would any idiot businessperson give something away? For the short sited people let me explain.

Businesses have sales and specials for a variety of reasons, but the underlying reason is to attract more customers. Yes it is – more customers and loyalty. All I was asking for is NW to use the same logic – yes the same logic they use for other people. Don’t even try to tell me that they haven’t matched or comp anyone before, or that they will not do it again.

Now, why is the reason this thread started? Point Blank – some knucklehead working in NW Perks, failed to use common judgment, and match a status, or some how provide something to attract a new customer. With that said, if they had they would have received business. Don’t get me wrong, I am no big shot, and certainly will not affect NW bottom line, but get 100 of us that spread work that NW has a good program and it all adds up. Like I said before if they had just kept me a Silver, which they gave me through Feb 02, I would not be here. As to the question if United will get some of my business – Yes, just booked flight for the end of Dec.

Again – NW Perks needs to retrain their people on common sense business procedures.

YOu obviously don't work for a big corp but you wannabe one of them. I can understand. How much revenue have you given them this year? Is that why they wouldn't comp you? Use your common sense you f#$%ing moron. Maybe you should ask them to make a contract for your company. Whooopsss you have no idea what I'm talking about. I understand that you have very low business knowledge in the business world

Sure they had, but at least they have some sense not to comp you. What's the point of comping a person that going to fly with you twice a year? lmfao.

If I go and stay at Marriott Timesquare, ny. Never been there before, I ask for upgrade to suite and told them that I would be spending 50k over the next 6 months. Do you think the manager will comp me?

Get some clue before you speak. If you don't like what NW's doing to you. Then tough luck. READ THE RULE, THEY CAN DO WHAT EVER THE F$% <IMG SRC="http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif"> THEY WANT WITH YOUR WP MEMBERSHIP.

PS; I decides to sent them a letter as well.
Told them that I will be spending over $100 million over the next year and wonder if they could comp me with 747-400 of my own.

LOL, indeed!

I defy anyone to pick sides in this spat. It is a war without the possibility of a whiner-- ooops! I mean winner.

If United were to comp you because you'll take one flight with them (which I suspect you have to fly with United as the route may not be available or convenient with AA or DL), it would be a lousy deal for United and a lousy deal for the existing United Premier Executive members. Airlines have to worry about dilution of elite benefits. Indiscriminate comping dilutes the benefits of existing elite members. Can you honestly say that you will fly 50K flight miles or 60 segments in the coming calendar year with United? You mention that next year you will spend $50,000 on DL tickets. How much on AA tickets? And how much on United tickets?

In retrospect it looks like NW did the right thing.

Well, most of the common sense people here are right when it comes to united. I was pressed into a corner and was trying to get some status with another airline. I asked NW and they basically acted like idiots. Now Delta came through with flying colors. The problem with this is United, actually being smaller and replying back days after Delta lost the request. You are right – the first one that I will look at is AA, but to be honest Delta is almost tied, maybe second just be a hair. United is really in 3rd but is still in the pack. If United sent me a letter and degraded me (if they are still around) then I can understand that, but with AA and Delta in the fore front I see top level with both.

Now, to deal with the idiot called liketofly – his comments are so intelligent I must bag for his forgiveness. How can I match such ignorance and proper use of language. Please for give me for asking for some special treatment in return for business. How dare I ask a business for a break. I must remember next time there are sales or poor customer service not to bend to temptation and ask for something. I should always pay full price for everything.

You mean you ask a them super stupid question but they were smart enough to figure out that you are a scam artist who don't have $ to buyF class tix but wanna sit in F class for free? Hey, maybe you should ask UPS or Fedex for those deal. I'm sure they'll
ship you in a comfy box. Might be a little tight than Y class but at least they give you gold card. lmfao Now, that a good deal!!!! You'll like it.

Like I said before, enjoy DL. Leave those who actually earn status alone and go away.

As a follow up, I finally got through at NW to a supervisor, and she was helpful. They noted my account so it finally shows "silver."
