Same-Day Stanby Policy
I've never flown on NWA before and have a priceline flight from YYZ to BOS through DTW. The flight is at 4pm but i would like to return to BOS asap that day.
Has anyone ever attempted to fly same-day-standby on NWA using a priceline ticket? I know that AA and AC have no problems with it.
Thanks!

I've never tried it with a priceline ticket, but I do it all the time with discount tickets. I don't think you should have a problem as long as there's space.

I flew on a Priceline ticket once. I actually was disappointed when I won the bid because I thought that I should have bid a few dollars less!
American didn't let me fly standby for an earlier flight. One may ask, but can't make important plans that require a successful standby.

NW has always been very good about sameday standby with regular tickets. I'd imagine it'd be more difficult with priceline tickets...but as with everything with airlines, it depends on who you talk to.

Thanks for the replies. I hope it won't be a long day at the airport.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Vancouverite. It may be possible under existing Priceline/Northwest rules, but I don't believe it is. Priceline tickets are extremely restrictive, but miracles do occur. For example, make sure your WorldPerks number is in your reservation, just in case.
I would be very pleasant and ask at the ticket counter, WorldPerks Club and/or at the gate if I may fly standby on an earlier flight without any additional charges. I would not mention that I am flying on a Priceline ticket. They have that information available to them.
Good luck and happy travels!

The answer will vary depending on who you talk to. Don't call up reservations and ask - they could note your record making sure you don't even try and standby. I have not tried it with NW, but for the limited times I have used Priceline, I have been able to standby (and change flights) many times.
One last thing - use the kiosks to check-in! See if you can get any WP mileage (or OP) out of it. It never hurts to try - I am 12/12 on getting US segments to post to my Dividend Miles account.
