purchasing miles
I was wondering if there is a way to buy northwest miles. I'm short 4000 miles.

I have looked into it. Apparently, it is not possible on NW.

The question is how quick you need them. If you can wait a bit and work for it, try things such as dining for miles, and www.clickrewards.com These are fairly easy ways to earn those miles.

If you dont have the NW Visa you can get a 5000 mile enrollment bonus if you apply by Apr 30 (so for the annual fee of $55 you will get 5055 miles). Call 1-800-360-2900 x293. Also look at the 10,000 mile bonus, and the Sprint 10K/20K threads.

Get a DinersClub Card with signing bonus points. Then transfer them over to NW. It will cost you $80.

See if you can bum a few of the 1000 mile certs off someone who received a "service recovery package".
I think these are also available on ebay.com, but the legality of that transaction is questionable to say the least.

Don't forget the NWA Fly Free Faster program for 10k points.
