Elite upgrade question

Elite upgrade question
Can I assume that the "pecking" order for upgrades is as follows:
Platinum Elite
Gold Elite
Silver Elite
Platinum companion
Silver companion
...or do the companions with Platinum or Gold have an edge over a Silver Elite?
Anyone with knowledge on this is appreciated.

You are right - except it should be Gold Companions (Silvers do not get companion upgrade).

Actually, isn't the rule that companion upgrades are only available at check in, or something like 2 hours before the flight (at the airport)? I've usually tried at the airport thinking that I couldn't call ahead and upgrade the person I was traveling with.

According to a gate agent friend of mine, the companion of a Gold/Plat with a confirmed FC seat gets priority over a Silver on airport standby.
However, Silvers usually get their confirmed upgrade at midnight so its a moot question.
