Persistence in booking
It always amazes me what you can get by being persistent when making a booking. I always use Expedia's Low Fare Finder and then try to find my bookings that way (sometimes using Travelocity's new way of showing available dates for travel at certain fares). I found a $156 YNG-CSG on NW; much cheaper than flying out of PIT. Called Northwest and the first agent I spoke with said that he couldn't book that because of a > 4 hour layover. I then called back and the next agent booked it without a hassle. It seems that this sort of response happens quite often.
