Transfer Points
Hi Y'all
I have about 18,000 miles on Northwest which will expire at the end of the year. I would like to transfer these miles into one of the following accounts:
United
Continental
American
Sheraton
Hilton
Currently I cant think of way to do this. Does anyone know of a way. Hilton allows other airlines to transfer miles into Hilton Honors points, but not Northwest.
If I cant transfer the points, I would like to redeem them for something. Any suggestions. By the way, I never fly Northwest anymore. I try to stick with the carriers that I have the most miles with.

I can't think of any way either. Try to get another 2K miles through partners (MCI, Sheraton Optima are some options) and get a 20K off peak travel award before the end of the year. If you have Sheraton or Hilton points you can transfer them to Northwest.

Correction to my earlier post: Hilton points cannot be converted to NW miles. You can use Hilton points to get NW tickets but cannot convert them to NW miles.

I agree with the previous post. Either earn another 2,000 miles and reach 20,000 and get a free off-peak domestic free ticket or kiss them goodbye. Switch to MCI and you'll get at least 2,000 miles but don't procrastinate as it takes 6 to 8 weeks to have the miles post to your account.
Also, if you visit The Airline Mileage Workshop, there are other freebie ways to earn NW mileage. That URL is: http://members.theglobe.com/mileage

I'm also looking to transfer NW miles to either:
Continental or Priority Club
I know Priority Club can be transfered to NW.
Does anyone know if NW can be transfered to Priority Club?

You may want to postpone converting your WorldPerks miles for the moment: WorldPerks banked miles set to expire at the end of this year will be extended for another year because of the strike.
In the meantime you could wait to see how the alliance between CO and NW evolves. It may end up possible to transfer miles between the two airlines. Check out IT Flash for how NW is dealing with WorldPerks members during the strike.

Thanks for the update on the Northwest strike. Its a relief to hear that my miles wont go to waste. I would rather they be transferred to Continental anyway.
