NW DC-9 hits coyote on takeoff in GRB

Just something for a slow news day - NW 1206, a DC-9, hit a coyote on take off this morning on the way to DTW. DTW was fogged in and we were diverted to GRR for fuel. There were several emergency vehicles out when we landed as a precautionary measure. No damage to the aircraft but the little guy evidently perished.

LOL!

No damage to the AC but a pair of "ACME" dynamite powered roller-skates were found several miles away.

Why would anyone notifiy catering when both crew & Y pax are being deprived of nourishment these days? Better to scoop him up for immediate consumption. Catering would probably add him to their WBC menu.

Never remember an episode where he met his demise by aircraft impact - plenty of speeding locomotives, though. My favorite one is when he builds his own railroad crossing with the twelve-foot section of railroad track, starts the wig-wag signal swinging, and then from behind a rock jumps on the track in front of the Roadrunner to catch the bird and... WHAM!... out of nowhere comes an express train.

Funny stuff WB dreamed up back then.

Perhaps this is a sign of good things to come -- a GRB WC featuring hot snacks?

New WC food

I know this was discussed recently - at least the potential for adding food options. But I just saw this news item on nwa.com and hadn't seen any discussion re: this "official" news:

Delicious New Items Added to WorldClubs

Northwest WorldClubs is always looking for ways to make your travel more rewarding. That's why we're proud to offer new food selections in the WorldClubs to keep you going during your busy travels.

We surveyed WorldClubs members, asking for opinions and suggestions regarding food and snack options. The most popular request was for more fruit and more snack options. Your opinion means a great deal to us, and that's why we're making changes to our menu.

There's something for everyone.
The WorldClubs menu will feature a range of new additions from salty to sweet and from healthy to hearty. New items will include Special K cereal bars and a new assortment of fruit such as oranges and granny smith apples. A tasty deluxe snack mix will also be added to our expanding menu. Each Club will incorporate some local touches as well, so be sure to visit the WorldClubs and watch for your suggested changes next time you're traveling!

New WC food

Was this mis-posted or are you suggesting the little guy will be on the menu?
