Flying Midwest using WP and a question about Fare codes

Hi, I may be posting this in the wrong forum, but I'll give it a shot.

I have some WP miles and I signed up for a visa card which is supposed to give me 15k more miles along with some Amex pts I can redeem. I'd like to fly Midwest airline from MSP to BOS this summer using WP miles. But depeding on the date and flight, the redemption is 50k or 25k. I talked to someone at midwest and they told me that "S" fare is used for award travel.

But when I check on seatcounter, the flights say S2 and still charge me 50k for the ticket. Does S2 mean there are 2 tickets available in that fare class? If so, why are some flights 25k and other 50k? Does it make a difference because I am trying to reserve through NWA using WP miles?

Thank you in advance.

Yeah, it probably does. Its true that award redemptions come from S class when redeeming YX miles, but its probably different for NWA miles.

In doing some checking for friends yesterday, I have noticed that it seems to be a ton easier to find 25K rewards on YX versus NW on the NW site.

I checked about 12 dates over the next few months for MKE-SEA award tickets at 25k, and I don't think I found one date that Perksaver was available, but on every date there were YX seats there (I was looking for two of them).

Not a bad use of NW miles, especially as they can be earned so quickly with promos and if you're elite.
